Maglie, Lecce (IT), 1988
Emiliano Picciolo graduated in Photography and Graphic Design from a Fine Arts High School in 2008 and began his career specializing in portrait and commercial still-life photography.
In 2019, he received a special mention in the European PhotoVue competition (held in the Netherlands by BenQ) for his portrait work—a recognition that underscored his refined artistic vision.
His artistic exploration focuses on nude art, a genre he defines as humanscape photography.
His work is distinguished by a keen attention to contrasts and the interplay between filled and empty spaces, creating geometries and light points shaped by natural light—his primary source of inspiration and study in everyday life. He predominantly works in black-and-white, blending digital and analog techniques to realize his vision.
In 2021, he founded Mellor’s Studio, a visual communication agency, where he developed commercial projects and presented his work in a permanent exhibition. In addition to his professional practice, Emiliano is deeply committed to education, regularly teaching photography, editing, and fine-art printing techniques.
