I was born in 1988. I graduated in Photography and Graphic Design from a Fine Arts High School in 2008, and began my career specializing in portrait and commercial still-life photography.
In 2019 I received a special mention in the European PhotoVue competition, held in the Netherlands by BenQ, for my portrait work, a recognition that affirmed the direction of my artistic vision.
My practice centers on figure photography, a genre I call “humanscape photography.” I work with people across many contexts: fine art nude, couples, events, family, and individual portraits for those who want to see themselves through different eyes. My work is defined by a careful attention to contrast and to the interplay between fullness and emptiness, building geometries and points of light shaped by natural light, which remains my primary source of inspiration and everyday study. I work predominantly in black and white, though I consider color an essential part of the story I’m telling. I move between digital and analog technique to shape my vision.
In 2021 I founded Mellor’s Studio, a visual communication agency, where I developed commercial projects and exhibited my work in a permanent installation. Alongside my professional practice, I’m deeply committed to teaching: I regularly give lessons in photography, editing, and fine-art printing.
